Bayern Oktoberfest

Lots going on at Bayern brewing Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 & 19. Friday, starting at 5 pm, sign up and packet-pickup party for the Brews Cruise the following day. A wooden barrel of Oktoberfest will be tapped, there will be live "oompah" music and traditional German food will be available (brats, sauerkraut and potato salad).

Saturday the 19th, in tandem with the super fun Brews Cruise (and poker run - click the link to learn more), the Edelweiss Bistro will be having their soft-opening at Bayern Brewing. Come check out Missoula's newest restaurant with a menu featuring traditional German/Bavarian cuisine to compliment the authentic lagers offered by the only German microbrewery in the Rocky Mountains. A wooden barrel of Oktoberfest will be tapped around 5 pm with more live "Oompah" music to enjoy.

Bayern Brewing owner, Jürgen Knöller, is proud to be opening the Edelweiss Bistro, using the same philosophy of craftsmanship and sustainability for the beer produced at his microbrewery. Menu items (such as schnitzel, weisswurst and brats) are made with high-quality ingredients from local Montana producers in addition to those imported from Germany. The beef and pork used is humanely-raised by local suppliers in Western Montana, free of hormones and antibiotics. Eggs come from local suppliers raising cage-free chickens that are free of growth hormones and antibiotics. Breads, sausages and vegetables are all purchased locally. Items imported from Germany (such as pickles, mustards, condiments and seasonings), contain no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial coloring or preservatives.

Please come enjoy the festivities at Bayern this weekend and remember: those who show up in Oktoberfest attire, such as lederhosen and drndls, usually get "special treatment"!
